With Deep Sentinel, currently on show at CES 2019, there’s no chance of mistaking what it’s all about-which is scaring the living daylights out of anyone who tries to break into your home.ĭesigned by Ammunition, the studio behind Beats headphones, Lyft’s Amp, and one very expensive coffee maker, the system consists of three aggressive-looking wireless security cameras with a 130 degree field of view and a main speaker hub that communicates with the local police department and blasts out warnings to intruders. Is that a camera on your shelf or a vase? Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference. Oh, ps, the cams field of view on the POE is terrible also less than 90 degree - there are much better cams available POE.The promise of most DIY home security systems is their ability to blend seamlessly into your home. May just cancel my service - I moved to the Poe cams but with this app making navigation impossible - no thank you! I’ll go back to the other cams or switch out of DS all together.

Same issues trying to tap the bottom right. When you try to hit the back arrow on the top left it will be impossible to hit or you’ll be going back to your last app! Only solution is a force close and start over - really Deep Sentinel! Do none of you have new iPhones lol.
DEEP SENTINEL DISCOUNT PRO
This means if you have an iPhone 14 pro for example which doesn’t have the top notch but rather the black floating oval (whatever it’s called) you will constantly get stuck in the app. This app has not been updated for newer iPhones. Most of the programming / coding for the system is done in Taiwan. Camera speakers break and require replacement. AI deterrent turns itself off on its own every week or so. When going back 6-7 months prior to search old footage, app crashes. Guards ignore trespassers frequently, even from multiple camera angles. Guards do not intervene barely at all anymore, even though the property is always closed. Camera mounts are cheaply made and break sometimes right out of the box, requiring a replacement. Cameras often disconnect from 2.4 GHz network and by default revert back to Hub connection. Cameras disconnect often even though they are less than 25-50 feet away. Cameras are expensive, yet cheaply made and three have gone bad in the span of 2 years (replaced for free, still inconvenient.) Live guards (when they intervene) scare off trespassers effectively.

Cameras support 2.4GHz network connection for longer distances the Hub cannot reach. Siren, 2 way audio, and video footage work decently well.
DEEP SENTINEL DISCOUNT PLUS
When a client pays $1,000 / year for a security system subscription PLUS $1,500 for a camera system, you would expect the guard intervention integration to be perfected. As time went on, however, guards would simply look at trespassers on the property and do nothing about the crime being committed they'd just review the footage and allow illegal acts to continue to be performed.

The service was excellent in the beginning, and guards would intervene on trespassers very often, and call the police often as well. Very expensive and unpredictable guard responseĪfter installing the DeepSentinel system for a client, and having it running for around 1.5-2 years now, DeepSentinel has earned a three star rating.
